SN125 becomes Refinery: a new competition to improve how open models train
The former 8Ball slot now identifies as Refinery, with a published website and source code for incentivized optimizer research. Miners submit training algorithms; validators compare them on a roughly 360-million-parameter model using one B200 and a maximum 20-hour run, then require a separate confirmation. The initial research phase is planned for at least six weeks. This is a substantial change of mission. The repository still warns that source availability is not proof of an active deployment, and the current network snapshot shows zero subnet emissions.
OpenRoboto expands physical evaluation to seven tasks as SN80 climbs

This is a major market move worth flagging. Community allegations in the channel were not corroborated by a primary announcement or transaction investigation, and the price decline alone does not establish wrongdoing.

Subtensor release 455 merges tighter proxy permissions and a crowdloan fix
The core repository merged release 455 and a fix that prevents NonTransfer and NonFungible proxies from using EVM, Contracts or Crowdloan calls to move value indirectly. Sunrise launches inside MoonPay’s PayBox
Sunrise and MoonPay announced a live PayBox integration for accessing supported Solana token markets from Claude, ChatGPT or Grok. This expands the distribution of the asset gateway behind TAO’s recent Solana rollout. MoonPay says the feature is available only in eligible jurisdictions outside the United States. The announcement concerns the gateway; no TAO-specific transaction was executed or independently tested in this scan.
BitMind changes its validator burn to 80%, reserving 20% for rewards
BitMind’s latest merged code replaces the temporary 100% burn with an 80% baseline burn and bumps the package to v5.0.2. After that baseline, the documented maximum shares are 8% image, 8% video, 0.8% audio and 3.2% generators; empty lanes can burn additional weight. This supersedes the earlier 100% figure circulating in today’s briefs. The network snapshot still shows zero SN34 subnet emissions, so this code change does not establish that TAO emissions or miner payouts have resumed.
Cacheon opens its GLM-5.3 kernel-optimization arena
Cacheon announced on September 7 that miners can now submit kernel optimizations for GLM-5.3 and earn protocol rewards. The matching arena work has been merged into its public repository. We checked the receiving project’s Models page: selecting Testnet shows MT Code 3G, labeled SN92, with a 32k context and one miner at the time of inspection. The listing was absent from the mainnet table. This is a concrete example of a model produced by one subnet being distributed through another, at the testnet stage.
RedTeam’s five enterprise pilots and upcoming Immune System get a Foundation showcase
OpenTensor Foundation’s next Novelty Search will feature RedTeam’s bot-attack defenses, five new enterprise pilots and its upcoming Immune System. The broadcast is scheduled for Thursday, September 10 at 9 PM UTC / 5 PM ET on X and YouTube, hosted by Const. RedTeam also shared the event. Pilots are not the same as disclosed paying contracts, and the Immune System is still described as upcoming.

Miners submit structured alpha-collateral risk recommendations, and validators evaluate them against realized market behavior using the risk.v1.subnet_alpha schema. Miner and validator documentation is linked in the original announcement. This is the SN30 project’s testnet, not a claim of mainnet activation.
Score’s Astra Ultra replay shows why F1 and subnet rewards can diverge
Score tested Astra Ultra on one 30-second football clip and reported F1 of 76.92%, but zero under SN44’s published scoring formula after timing adjustments and false-positive penalties. Its breakdown lists 22 predictions, seven extras and two misses. Score explicitly calls this one offline replay, not a live-latency test or a season-long benchmark. It is a useful example of the cost of invented rare actions under the subnet’s scoring rules.
Lium benchmark follow-up: 256 streams explain the 14,499 tokens-per-second figure
The full September 6 thread supplies the conditions missing from our previous edition: Qwen3.6 35B FP8, vLLM 0.28.0, one B200 with 192GB, and 256 concurrent streams producing 512 output tokens each. Lium links its LocalMaxxing run and a reproduction repository. Its cost calculation is $5.60 per GPU-hour divided by about 52.2 million output tokens per hour, or roughly $0.107 per million. This is aggregate throughput under the stated workload, not one user’s generation speed.
Catch-up: Phylax deregistration wipes a 56,076-alpha conviction lock
A finalized-chain event at block 9,008,717 shows that the former SN76 Phylax slot was deregistered on September 6 at 1:37 PM ET, wiping 56,076.232 locked alpha. SubnetRadar says the locked stake was converted to TAO pro rata through the AMM and returned to free balance. This was a deregistration exit, not a scheduled cliff, and it is not evidence that the returned TAO was sold. The event fell inside the September 7 edition's coverage window but was missed there, so it is labeled as a catch-up.

Pareton adds score transparency and a two-day delay before patch publication

- X results were sampled, not exhaustively paginated. Group queries used Bittensor/TAO/subnet context to reduce unrelated matches and excluded replies; public account samples and selected full threads supplemented them. Private, deleted, unindexed and unsampled posts can still be missing.
- Private Discord history was not accessed directly. SubnetRadar and AlphaGap are discovery sources, and a statement in a subnet channel is not automatically a team statement. Desearch’s proposal, Vidaio’s activation, Iota’s reported burn transaction and the pending SN73 key swap remain incompletely verified.
- Five mapped repository paths returned errors: deprecated/deprecated, actual-computer/actual-subnet-95, Satori119/Satori, NIOME-BITTENSOR/NIOME and Oh-My-Ditto/ditto. Historical aliases can redirect or refer to old projects; primary attribution was checked for published stories.
